I've spent the last few months looking for replacement rocker panels for my '77. I've checked local junkyards and even tried finding a parts truck that I could buy but I haven't had any luck.

Has anyone tried welding on new rocker panels from something like a 1980 toyota pickup? Is it possible to modify them enough to make them fit?

I'm almost tempted to buy one just to play with and see what I can come up with. Mine are bad enough that after I cut out what is rusty I won't have much left to repair. I'd rather just weld on new or better panels.

Did you ever find a solution to your rocker issue? I actually have a pair of decent rockers I cut off a 78 I parted out since I know they rust out and I've had a bunch of the trucks. Hit me up JayGryph at Gmail if you're interested. It looks like you're in Washington state, I'm outside of Portland so maybe we could work something out.
