I've spent the last few months looking for replacement rocker panels for my '77. I've checked local junkyards and even tried finding a parts truck that I could buy but I haven't had any luck.

Has anyone tried welding on new rocker panels from something like a 1980 toyota pickup? Is it possible to modify them enough to make them fit?

I'm almost tempted to buy one just to play with and see what I can come up with. Mine are bad enough that after I cut out what is rusty I won't have much left to repair. I'd rather just weld on new or better panels.

 

Did you ever find a solution to your rocker issue? I actually have a pair of decent rockers I cut off a 78 I parted out since I know they rust out and I've had a bunch of the trucks.
