Just thought I'd share some pics of the fiberglass sub enclosure. If you have an XCab and don't mind losing the tool storage space this is the way to go IMHO. This was my first every fiberglass project. It took me a weekend to do it due to me being a novice. I think I could bang another one out in at least half of the time. It was about $100 in material but I have a ton left over and I wasted a ton doing it so I bet that could be cut in half as well. Anyway, here you go...

Here's the cubby that I used behind the driver...

Here it is after I stripped it and threw a bit of sound deadener on it...

    Here's the Sundown SD3 8" I used...

Here's the tape "frame" I made. I used some craft foam to half ass fill in the empty spaces behind the tape...

Some foil coated with Pam to make the glass easy to get out...

    The "frame" of the enclosure...

It has a ton of bubbles because like I said, it was my first time ever working with glass.

Trimmed the "frame" with a multitool and set in the ring for the sub...

Used an old Under Armour shirt as the base for the bottom and top...

It fires down into the cubby. It's a touch too high for the seat to close completely. There's about an inch gap. One of these days I'll pull it out and put a notch so the seat can close completely.

Overall, I'm really happy with how it turned out and looking in my truck you'd never know I have a subwoofer, which is what I was going for.
