Soooooooooooooooooo, update for you non-FB and non-IG guys.

I blew the good ole 22RE.
6 years and 80k worth of driving her hard and maintaining her really well, she decided it was time to blow a rod. or something. I haven't pulled the motor apart just yet.

But I do have a black 1995 Toyota Supra TT 6speed
    [IMG]
Authentic Bride Stradias and RO rails, Nardi steering wheel with a BOSS hub, it came with Enkei NT03+M's, it already has a HKS intercooler piping kit and a Rod Millen 3" catless downpipe, and I installed an HKS 4" Titanium Racing Exhaust.

That sucks the motor blew, but on the bright side you get to drive a Supra of all cars. I'm jealous. :waytogo:

    Yeah, it sure sucks!
The truck blew up the weekend before the Supra arrived.
It was making a knock and I had no choice but to get as close to the house as possible.
I'm trying to remember but it was about 16 miles to get home. At the halfway mark, the rod actually broke and busted a hole on the exh side of the block.
I went from extremely LOUD knocks to having a 3 cylinder 22RE. It was pouring smoke all over the place. interior still smells like oil lol.
I kept driving at about 50mph on the single lane highway.
Finally got within less than a mile to my house and it finally seized up from billowing out all the oil.
Had my friend grab the straps and we towed it home with the Nismo 370Z that's lowered haha.

So since that happened, I haven't touched the truck since. Maybe get inside but aside from that, I haven't bothered to tear apart the motor.
It's been raining a lot lately.

I took the Work Kiwami 18x10.5" wheels and Toyo R888's 295/30/18's off the truck and now she's on her Craigslist special 16" wheels I got when I was 16-17yo.

Haha, the Supra sure is fun. It's comfortable, it moves..., and it sounds amazing.

Just dropping by for a small update. The truck has been down since Nov. 1st and has sat there since. (I'm sure that's when it blew.)

Currently have a SC400 donor car I'm looking to pick up as soon as I return to the area.
It'll need an airbox with the MAF since he sold that, not knowing about my interest in the donor car just yet.

    I have acquired a Nismo 370Z 6 speed transmission for $500.
I'm looking at having a 98 VVTi 1UZ-FE with a Collins Adapter to mate up.
Currently I have this planned out..

    Collins adapter - $300
Thinking about getting a 3VZ-E flywheel custom machined - $ unknown
    22RE to 1UZ mounts ebay - $125
MR2 Turbo pressure plate, unsure what to choose at this point (Stage 3 is what i've been reading)
SR20DET clutch disc, possibly an ACT unit, stage two is what i've read
Pilot bushing I'll probably get made locally or find online. $55 from collins is quite the money...

    So far, a clutch disc from a RWD SR20DET, 300ZX, 350Z, works.
Pressure plates I could use the MR2 Turbo or Scion tC.

Essentially, match FW to 1UZ and match PP to FW.
The clutch disc gets matched to the transmission's spline count.

They had the slip yoke for the trans priced at something ridiculous. The guy I got my transmission from let me have the whole CF driveshaft for cheap!
If I can't manage to remove the yoke from the original driveshaft anytime soon, I'll order a 2WD Titan slip yoke if I don't get the IRS done anytime soon.
I really don't want to work with the stupid solid axle anymore.

I might try to see if I can get a 370Z clutch unit going... that'd be great. Twin disc would be optimal, I'm just not sure how to figure this whole gamble up just yet.

Currently the truck has 3.41's... or 3.42's.
My Supra has 3.133's and the 98 SC400's come with 3.266's.
Gearing should be quite nice with the 1UZ in place of the 22RE.

    I was churning 2000RPM's roughly with 275/35/18's at 60mph.
That's with the W58's fifth gear of .783, my final of 3.41/.42

The SC400's final of 3.266 with 295/30/18's should leave me at 2100RPM roughly with a 6th gear ratio of .794.
If I do find myself getting a USDM TT 6spd Supra LSD, giving the truck some 3.133's with a bulletproof 220mm case would set me at 2000RPM's at 60mph, not bad at all.

If all information goes well for me, I could see installing the rear subframe and being able to swap out parts between the truck and the Supra at any given moment if a vehicle's part has to fail, I have a spare to cann (cannibalize) from.

I sent a few messages to Collins adapters over the past week and I have received nothing in response. Would like to get this truck on the road asap.

Also, the 370Z has a short wheelbase of 100in, relative to the truck's 121" wheelbase.
Now, the 350z/370z shifters are quite further back than most cars when they get swapped into... say, a SC3/400 or 240SX... Given that my non-tripod SC300 steel sammich plate W58 has pushed the shifter quite far back... The 6spd gives me a little concern.... I think once I have the Supra's bucket seats installed, I'm hoping the shifter would be in a very comfortable (at my hand) location. If not, i'll get it shortened.
    Back to the wheelbase thing....
I'd like to use the carbon fiber driveshaft from the 370Z.
Once the motor and trans are in and I can get the SC400 rear subframe mounted up. I'm going to install the single piece driveshaft, measure how far out the distance of the DS to the diff is.... and possibly get an adapter made in some sort of a long spacer. Now, if the measurement of 20" (give or take some, who knows how far back that 1UZ/6mt combo sits on the front axle compared to the VQ37/6mt on the 370Z) is true, then that aluminum spacer 20" long is going to be quite the length and weight, I may just get a one piece made to make life easier. We'll see how things work out in terms of weight and balance. I'd like to use that CF driveshaft.

That's the extent of my night's research on the swap. I've been on a short vacation without my laptop, this computer sucks right now lol.

Just got my 22RE to 1UZ engine mounts like YotaRip has had previously used. I have a feeling I'll have to ream the holes some.

I sent Collins adapter some messages and got zero replies back.
I sent Comp Clutches an email about making me a 370Z flywheel that'll be using 1UZ specs to bolt up. No reply yet but I may give them a call tomorrow.
Got to take the Supra in for an alignment, San Jose roads screwed it all up.

Trying to enjoy these photos, I miss seeing her like this.

I'm aiming to get the SC400 to my house this weekend and send the rest of the money to get a used Kaaz 2way 200mm diff for the SC400 IRS.
If I can pull the 1UZFE out and get it ready for prep and install, I may just take the SC400 to some storage unit until I get the truck on the road and be able to pull the IFS and IRS out, then figure out the logistics to scrap the SC after a complete part out.

The truck looks awsome. On the mounts, I thought I post that a few holes needed to be opened up to blot it to the 1UZ. I posted the mounts at the time because I thought they were the only mass produced option at the time. I've since found out that Xcessive manufacturing makes mounts for 22re to 1uz swaps now and they fit perfectly. I'm definately using them if I do another swap.

Not a problem yotarip. Thats the best part about these swaps is that you learn as you go.
IronNam, All i know is they didnt fit well since i just ran into this problem Sunday night. I haven't done anything to the mounts yet.

Yeah, that's true. I'm learning tons about my Supra, SC400's, 370Z's, 350Z's, and all other chassis and stuff just because of this damn swap.

It's becoming a huge pain in the ass. If the driveway was flat, I had a bigger garage, and everything arrived on time, this would be a blast. but i'll have to be patient.

Took these Friday. Washed it before heading to work. This is most recent, roughly 10mm lower than what HKS had set the coilovers to.

    I appreciate it, Yotaman95.

Recently I've managed to go ahead and tear down the motor some. 22RE still awaits the cherry picker to arrive.

Supra received a custom carbon fiber lip modeled after the Ridox one, made to fit the OEM. Only one of several Supra that's running this lip.
Ridox lip spoiler installed, turbo wing installed, and hatch visor installed (again).

My three piece wheels are making progress. Almost done with those.

Took "Best Toyota" at the local car show. As you guys may know, I'm not a car show guy by any means.

Mavericks has full kits for the cd009 to uz or jz just fyi. That way you dont have to get everything seperately. I might have an extra maf for the uz.
