I just did a w58 swap and found that the shifter looks to be worn out. Does anybody have a pic of what it looks like with the boot off? Mine looks like it's all bent out of shape. If no pics, anybody recommend a good aftermarket set up that won't cost me my first born?

By, vent out if shape, I am talking about the knuckle that the shifter sits in. It's hard to see but it is all bent outward where the ball and bottom of the stick are attached.

Put the shifter back in the trans and slip a piece of pipe over it and bend it back. Looks like someone left the stick in and let the trans roll around in the bed of a truck for a while.

Mine looks the same way. Going to use a press to shape it back to its original form as much as i can.

Thanks for the input. I think I have another issue with it. Shouldn't the spring and retainer be under the small plate that holds the stick to the piece that bolts to the top of the trans?

The retainer plate should be the top most piece. The cone piece you currently have on the top should be under the retainer.

That is what I thought. The hole is so miss shaped at this point it won't stay under. As soon as you move the stick left or right the spring retainer pops right out of tjechole. Any suggestions on where to get another whole assembly, factory or aftermarket?

I have a couple kicking around that will work. I'm pulling one out of my truck and going back to the chrome supra stick this. $30 shipped to your door.
