Did any of the 89-95 Standard cabs come out with a solid or foam core headliner? My 90 has the bow style, and I hate the look. Want something I can recover easily.

How about the 89-95 xcabs? Maybe I could modify one to shorten it for a standard cab?

Who all has swapped in a solid headliner from something else? Made your own solid style? Posy up some inspiration pics.

I've seen 4 Runners with solid style. I'm even thinking about modifying one of those to fit my standard cab.

No 89-95 truck I know of came with a solid headliner. I know that TruckAction made his own but that is in an 84-88 truck. I picked up a 01-04 solid headliner and am going to make it work in my 93 standard cab. I have thought about getting a 4runner unit myself and cut to fit. Cant be too hard as they all share so many parts.

Yes I too didn't like the bow type ,also had a tear in it,so made a sold type on my 88 Extra Cab.
Used the stock one as a pattern over some wood door skin sheet stock, which I than screwed to the steel cross ribs starting in the middle & working to the sides & than front to back. After I used a air tool with carbide cutter to trim the sides all way around.
Than glued a high density form to it to which I added flames with the same form & next glued the finish material, wrapping the edges under the sides.

Hahaha! This guy here never ceases to amaze me.

TA, did you do all of that while board was installed? Above your head I mean? That's what I gather from your post. I guess where there is a will there is a way.

Yes,get the board in place, than the form, than the material of choice!
I use good quality contact adhesive for both the form & material!

    And thanks for the comment!
One should do all the work they can them self so can learn & you get a better feeling of accomplishment!!

I've also been considering using a piece of 1/8" ABS sheeting, forming the basic shape off the roof by heating it and forming it over the roof. Then cut, ajust, cover, and mount it in the cab.

    :)

T.A. your headliner looks great man. Thanks for the input.

Second gen 4runners had them. Should be pretty easy to cut to fit in a pickup.

Once I get off my butt and cage my 89 I'm going to make a headliner out of pink and black tiger stripe shag.
