manual steering box?

    i have a '78 pickup and the steering is really loose tried looking for a replacement gear box not much luck...
    anyone one know where i could one or know of anyone that could maintenance them, explain how to take out the free play... any help appreciated

    If you can wait a few months you can have the one out of my 78 for the cost of shipping. Fairly tight.

    There should be a nut on a stud with a slot in the end somewhere on your steering box. Loosen the nut and slowly tighten the stud a little at a time, Tighten the nut and drive it around and repeat until its pretty good but not hard to turn
