So I picked up a 1976 hilux from my boss the other day
    Its a daily driver project
    Paid 1200 for it
New door panels, new door weatherstripping on the doors, weber carb, electronic dist. And ignition, brand new tires, 5 speed out of a 79 celica and seats from a celica too.
    Has original 20r in it.
I'm wanting to put a tach in it but it has three wires instead of four.
Also looking for a couple custom touches peoples done to there's to make them stand out.

Looks nice aside from that rust spot. Theres a guy on craigslist in L.A. Parting out a 73, hit em up for the rocker panel.

Yea the worst part is under the passenger door and bottom side of passenger fender. The rest is pretty must surface as far as I can tell at the moment. I'll check it out thanks

Can someone tell me what this is under the glove box.
Seen a bunch of trucks without it.

The thing on the right is an optional AC thing i think. The one in the middle is the heater

Is it "rare" by any sense. I'm not sure its even functional. Has no face plate or anything

Yeah that was the factory a/c unit, looks like it was an afterthought. It's like some engineer said, "hey, let's modify this window unit and toss it in there"

Went through the 72-78 pickups and that is the original heater in the middle and a/c under the glove box. The knobs under the radio are the controls.

my pickup has the AC unit, i just didn't recognize it without a faceplate. I'm missing the heater fan controls and the vent sliders don't seem to be working properly, but the AC blows ice cold and is awesome for phoenix weather.
