Hey you guys, Ive swapped out my auto trans from my 94 pickup 4cyl to a 5spd from a 86 supra. Ive removed the old one and got all the right parts for the swap like the flywheel, clutch, master and slave cylinders, the lines and the pedals and have installed those, i just cant figure out what wires go where, i believe there's one for the reverse lights, and some for it so it starts in neutral, i need help on the wiring half basically, I havent been able to find any info on exactly what Im looking for
I'm not sure on the wiring, I'd say find a factory wiring diagram from the year/model Supra you used and decipher what the wires from the trans are for, then match them up to the wiring diagram for you truck. Another thing with your swap is that the W58 shifter location is further back than the W trans that came with these trucks....so you'll either need to make a new hole in your floor, or find a trans from a truck and swap the tail section.
He just needs to grab a wiring diagram for his year truck and the automatic transmission plugs, figure out which ones are ground, park, neutral, and ground them so he can start.
On a 4x4 the neutral safety is triggered by connecting the white wires with black stripes together. They are in the harness on top of the trans tunnel that used to go to the shifter.
Yeah, it's the wire plug that goes where the old automatic shifter assembly is on the auto trans itself. It's REALLY self explanatory.
