    Folks:
I'm an amateur mechanic, and all I want to do is put slightly larger wheels/ tires on my 1993 toyota pickup. e.g., 15 inch or 16 inch wheels (I think stock is 14 inch). I don't plan to use a lift kit or anything. Do I need to upgrade all the suspension and steering stuff? like upgraded torsion bars, sway bars, steering stabilizers, etc.? Just for slightly larger tires? Or can I go with stock stuff?

Stock stuff is fine. Use a tire calculator to make sure you keep your speedo right

Cranio, I just did this recently. I am sure the Yota Gods will frown upon me, but truth is truth.
I bought an 89, 4speed, carbed, swb, reg cab p/u. It came with 215 70 R14 tires. I use a mileage tracker on all my cars and couldn't break 20 mpg on this truck...somehow I had it in my head that this should rival or beat my 95 civic that gets 26 mpg. So I decided to put bigger tires on it. I got jerked (didn't get what I asked for) by the tire guys, but still walked away with a set of 235 75 R15 tires on a set of wagon wheels. I don't have mpg data yet, but will tell you it fills the wheel well and no rubs at all. I can definitely hear the relaxation in the motor at highway speeds...it drops the rpms down Nicely.
Oh, the rims are 15x7...I wanted 15x8 in black Daytonas...they ordered these friggin trailer wheels...
