Toyota obviously did it best but trying to find a decent set is going to be fun.

Any aftermarket ones your going to have to massage the mounting points to make em fit just right

Jetas is right....cheap ones will take some massaging and/or shimming to make them fit right. The last few body panel & lights I've bought have been through Certifit. They are CHEAP and my personal time is free to me so I don't mind a little more work.
Jetas, correct me if I'm wrong.....but I believe you have to also swap the side markers to 4wd as they are a different shape than the 2wd ones.
Don't know if they have one around you but......
    Certifit Online
    Good luck!

^ Yup. The 4x4s taper back at the top, 4x2 taper back at the bottom. And the bumper needs to be changed to matchup with the extra width, then you gotta change the brackets too!

Yea what XS said. I know for the 92+ 4 runner bumper i was able to mod the stock bumper brackets to mount the bumper.

And make sure you get the right corner lights for the front end you choose. Because all the 4x4/4Runner corner lights are the same EXCEPT the ones for the 92+ 4Runner. Keep that in mind

84-88 uses the same marker lights 2x or 4x. Its 89+ that uses different housings.

Already stated. OEM is best. And there ARE still some good ones out there. But other than that there really isnt a "best" aftermarket manufacturer. Regardless theyre all going to be off a little bit. Honestly just get whatever you can afford and massage as needed.

I was always told the aftermarkets didn't fit well, I ended up finding a guy on Craigslist that sold me the front fenders and bed off his 87 4wd. Probably paid a little less getting oem's off of Craigslist.

I used after market fenders from Parts Train, CAPA certified, fit just like stock.

Not sure what the big deal is. They were around $75 a piece 8 or so years ago.

CAPA are good aftermarket and actually most insurances prefer them to OEM because of price. There are lesser brands of aftermarket that are just dirt cheap and fit like crap too.
