just join a week ago. Finally posted. I aquired my 89 toyota a year ago. Truck is ugly yellow. I grew up lowriding, so I threw my 13x7 wires from my blazer. When I got it, it had 2 inch blocks. little to high for me. I bought some 3" inch blocks and crank the torsions. the rear was a little high, so remove a leaf and drop it lower. I decided to turn it into a project a couple weeks ago. put some mr2 seats, put a chrome 2wd valance. my 4x fenders come in tommorow. I have new clear corners for them already. just put some doestch tech shocks in the front. The rear bell tech shocks come in tomorrow too along with spacers from ezacessory. I bought some cheap ass mazda protege rims for now for a different look. I keep you guys posted, enjoy these old pics for now.
thanks guys. I'll be painting the truck gloss black. I would remove the bumper but I might get pulled over due to our hawaii law to have a bumper. Got the thing free, needed it for my saftey check. That bumper is the only rust on the truck. just installed the belltech nitro 2 shocks, and pick up my fenders tommorow.
Hello and welcome to Toyotaminis! Nice looking mini you got there! Well I too like the whole setup minus the bumper of course, but the rims and the color got me looking twice. I know you plan on changing things up, but its surely a nice roller for now! So take your time, Start a ( Build thread ) and post up those updates as you move along with your project and feel free to submit your info on our ( User Map ) and enjoy the site & welcome to our Toyota family . . .
Nice ride man. Personally, the yellow doesn't bother me. I like the fact that these trucks were and are so easy to fix up in a lot of different ways. Back in the day, it was 15x10's or even 12's with a crazy offset on 195/50 series tires. That was considered low profile back then. Welcome to the site, and again, NICE RIDE!
