Has anyone here upgraded their headlight harness so they can run higher wattage H4 bulbs?

I just got new H4 housings with the standard bulbs and I'm thinking of upgrading to a higher wattage bulb (60/100W, e.g.). There are many H4 headlight harness available (like this), but they always say "not compatible with Toyota models". I think this is because all Toyota headlights (at least back then) used a switched ground for the headlights as opposed to a switched power setup. Does it matter if the headlights are switched power, as long as they are separated from the truck's electrical by relays?

And for the record, I'm not interested in hearing about HID setups, I've already read all of those threads and that information doesn't seem to apply here...

Just create a harness like the ones used for HIDs. Use the stock wiring to trigger the relay and get the juice straight from the battery.

Thicker gauge wire and 2 relays should to the trick

If you want to keep a solid length of thicker wire for the power you could used the relays to trigger a ground only rather than running the thick wire to through the relays.
