Hello --

I am hoping that you can help me find a brake master cylinder for my 1972 Toyota HiLux 2WD pickup VIN: RN22001644 Mfd. JUL 72 18RC engine

It is a dual-reservoir cylinder with a four-bolt flange that mounts to the vacuum booster.

The part is NLA from Toyota. They call it "Master cylinder sub-assembly", P/N 4720135012

I would definitely prefer a new part, including the reservoirs, even if I have to purchase the reservoirs separately. But if only available rebuilt, I guess that would have to do. And if nobody can supply either a new or rebuilt unit, I guess my last choice would be a rebuild kit, although I've never had very good luck with any of those!

Ray, Rock Auto has that part starting at $21.79.

 

Thanks for the reply with an instant lead -- I obviously underestimated RockAuto's depth of parts and didn't even try to go there! Then, after finding the correct part number (Centric 13044701) and checking their detailed description to ensure it would indeed fit my truck, I entered that P/N into eBay and was able to buy the same part for $10 cheaper than RockAuto (the eBay seller has >24,000 feedbacks at 98.9%, so I'm just as confident as I would be with a major name like RockAuto)
