I want to lower my 1978 long bed camper special, what are my options? i'm having trouble finding any information, can 3rd generation drop spindles bolt up? or should I swap the front end completely? any help or photos would be greatly appreciated!

 

buy mitshibishi mighty max drop springs by belltech. that will give you a 3.5 inch drop

If my memory is any good, stock mighty max springs give you a 3"ish drop, then the lowering springs go that much farther..

If you want to see a 3" drop on a 77 hilux go look at my build thread. There should be one in there!

 

the guy thats looking wants to lift his a bit he bought it with heated springs.

 

To answer the original will it fit question, none of the front suspension will fit the 79+ trucks. They use a torsion bar.

 

i have not purchased any lowering gear YET. I want it to be low and ride nice… i've read the belltechs are nice but my question was, how do I get drop spindles on here? 3rd gen spindles? school me.
