I put the DT Tri-Y header on over the weekend. Then this morning I did all the welding on my exhaust and made everything fit. Turned out great! I'm really happy with how it sounds also, I was worried the straight through muffler would be too loud.

    Nice exhaust. Stainless glass pack?

I quit paying for exhaust work years ago. The savings of doing it myself vs paying for it has more than payed for my welder all by itself. I also end up with better flowing systems since I use mandrel bends exclusively.

It's all mild steel, I considered doing it all in stainless but I didn't have the funds available at the time. The cat and exhaust were something generic the exhaust shop had.

Yes the mandrel bends are crucial, and fitting it yourself you can be precise and make it go exactly where you want. I think I spent a total of $160 for all the parts after the header.

My welder was giving me a fit surging but I made it work, I think I need to beef up the power supply/breaker to my welder outlet

That looks nice! I have a full length header on my 4Runner w/2.25" exhaust. I want to do the same for my 89 pickup.

Do it! You just need a welder and a way to cut pipe. A local muffler shop I went to sells prebent mandrel pipe in different sizes, with different degree bends. $15 each. I paid $22 for a 10' piece of straight pipe. Some flanges, a high flow cat, straight through glass pack muffler, and a hand full of hangers.. The total of all the parts at the muffler shop was $177. Add a few hours fabricating and you will have the best exhaust for your money.
