Hi there guys!

A few days ago i found this awesome car in the middle of nowhere , a toyota Hilux pickup truck! I liked the look and i decided to call the owner and ask him if i could buy it , since im looking for a fun project and a car to transport my motocross with this was a perfect find for me! The owners reply was short , "If you want it , take it"

So i began to read about the model on internet , and by my great suprise , many peoples seems to like these cars (and thats how i found this site)

My plan is to get this poor car to my place , make it run , fresh it up and get a nice look and slam that pickup to the ground! hopefully with a low cost
So i where thinking , why not share my project with you guys ! And i guess i might need some advice along the way aswell , and i have a feeling this is the place to be if so

Hi! Time for a update

Yesturday i trailed the car to my place , after 15 years hidden in the woods . I started of to clean up the outside. After further inspection i realized there was more rust than i expected. for some reason the left side of the car is in much worse condition than the opposit. I did also remove the seat and cleaned up the cab and found some rust holes there aswell ..

But belive it or not , i had some possitive moments aswell i emptied the tank and poored in some fresh gas , connected the battery , and it started! the electronics in the car seems to work just fine even though the car have been without a windshield for all these years in all kind of weathers.

when I knew the engine where running I thought I would start by getting it roadworthy so that I can more easily move the car if needed , so i started of to remove the clutch pump and cleaned it up since i didnt get any pressure .

My next step is to check the brakes , try to remove some rust and weld the rust holes i found on the floor. There will be more pictures and updates so stay tuned!

Where are you located?

The truck I took many parts off had a windshield left in it.

I am located in Finland. i really need to find a windshield.. Do you have any idea how much they cost? Iknow i am in the wrong section , i did not really know the year of the car when i started this Thread but i will copy my updates and continue in the 76-83 category
