ok here it is im fixing dents in my lux including the tailgate im thinking of making a custom one off ducktail spoiler for the tailgate. im up to making the mold for the spoiler so hope to get some answers in a couple of days now my vision is to look like these: i like the one piece look but the angle for my liking is too high this is fairly close to my vision of how i would like it to look but for me it needs more angle this is very close to ticking all my boxes but im unsure if i would like it to hang out abit more im also playing with the idea of buying some L.E.Ds and wiring up to my brake lights and indicators all opinions are welcome no offensive will be taken everyone has the right to speak
thanks for the reply im really leaning towards that one too as i really like the curve and how its not in your face and it will look oem the most
thanks will do, i might do a build threat so if anyone is interested the can follow and improve it if they want to do one themselves
Ive always liked the Rocket Bunny lips Like so: But I feel like it wouldn't work well on our trucks. I'd go with something along the lines of the bottom black one as well.
I think between the three spoilers, you will find the one that is just right for you. Then fall asleep in the bed of your truck while working on it and wake up to three angry bears trying to evict you from your garage. But seriously, I like the black one the best. You can tell its there and it would add style and set your truck apart, but it doesn't look like you raided the "teenage angst" isle at the local parts store. (edit) Sorry, the bottom black one. I posted, then saw that the top one was black as well.
I'd say the functional one but unless you're going to put a tonneau cover on none of them will do anything at all.
hahahaha love it! yeah ill get there and try every one until i find the one that is juuuust rightt. i do have a soft cover this will be for show and something different
ok so heres some progress for anyone interesed i have made some cardboard cut-outs and laid thin cardboard on top, its only held on by bluetac at the moment just to get a ruff idea so the cardboard has lifted up in the pics. im thinking a black spoiler on a red tailgate that may get pinstriped or airbrushed in the future will hopefully be making a proper mold within the next few days
been a while heres a little update not much got done till today as i screwed my knee and went for surgery last week and just started working again today small mold large version pvc mold getting ready for fiberglassing will update later tonight/tomorrow when i get more done
Would it be functional even with a tonneau? It would seem that if it provided some benefit, all the hard tonneau cover makers would at least offer an optional spoiler, either molded-in or bolt-on. Just wondering since I plan to make a hard tonneau for my truck and was thinking of adding a spoiler...
it probably doesnt do anything just gives another look to it, i have tried to find one to bolt on but couldnt find anything so i made my own if your going to try make one its not hard just patience (i dont have much of lol) im happy to give my 2 cents of help haha
update for today and for a while i got the fiberglassing done of the main body and now i got to wait to fix and paint my tail gate before putting the spoile ron. Then i will will have to cut it to size and fill in the ends and paint the spoiler
lol i forgot about this thread, so i have my spoiler all painted and also while i was at it i made a front lip. what are peoples thoughts
