Air filter ID help - '83

    Hello! I was hoping you could help me with figuring out what this air filter is because I'd like to get a clean fresh new one for my little beastie. Thanks for your advice!

    That looks like a K&N. No need to replace it unless it is damaged.

    You can wash it, rinse, let it dry, and then oil it with K&N filter oil. I use laundry detergent since it is a cotton filter but K&N does sell special filter cleaning solution. Just swish it around in a bucket/pan of soapy water (or K&N cleaning solution) and then gently rinse well. Don't scrub it because it will ruin the mesh and it won't help anyway and don't blast it with the hose to rinse because that will mess up the cotton gauze.

    I use the K&N cleaner/oil on my motorcycle air filter. I have ordered a Weber replacement for this one with the clamps and everything so looks like I will have a spare. Thanks for the further information - having an extra is fine with me!
