Got the bed unbolted easily tonight and hovering just above the frame but now I am at the mercy of getting people to help get the bed outta the way. I may head out again and try and get the rear axle out of the way and the frame on the ground but it might be better to wait till I have better access.

When are you looking to move the bed?

If you have a cherry picker you can use that to hoist the bed up. Thats how ive been doing mine

Yes I am heading to horror freight after lunch to grab one, don't have a whole lotta room to store it but I know its value.

Probably this afternoon with the picker.

I got it all taken care of, worst part so far...

Warning to all others- it is nearly impossible to lift a longbed front to back with a parts store engine hoist without extra hands. I couldn't get at the bed from the side because of the leaf springs after getting it off, trying to get it up on end was nearly impossible without bending, dinging and scratching your bed. I managed all three offenses.

I am done for today and maybe for tomorrow as well!

Back at it today, almost laid out in the back.

Axle stowed on the frame till I can get the stock rims out and mock it up for notch height.

Crossmember is on the ground but the tank has to come up in the back.

Tight fit getting the car back in.

Tomorrow I want to remove the crossbrace that holds the rear of the tank and hopefully get the notch side-plates tacked up. I still gotta get the front fenderwells cut out before I can start getting the front wrapped up.

Thanks it definitely is slow going but then again I have only been working a couple hours at a time.

Seems like one simple thing takes forever, today I worked on removing the fuel tank rear crossmember and it literally was about all I got done in the few hours I spent on it. Did get one notch sideplate tacked in and had to stop to eat before I head to work at 830.

Notches partially welded in, everything except to to chop out centers and get the inner braces done and that will be it. Going to get the axle under it soon and begin on the forward link mounts and links.

Well its been a long uneventful summer for my toyota due to some major overtime at work and other things sucking up my time and motivation for the truck but I knocked out a lot of stuff this week.

Its back on its own weight, got the front and rear suspension done minus shocks and permanent plumbing.

Got the fuel tank mounted backup after the pictures, should be able to redo the rear brake hardline/softline, reinstall some sort of exhaust and get it driving with some T-ed airlines on a schraeder valve. The cheepo fittings for the T and schraeder are from home depot and leak pretty bad so it probably won't make it past the driveway. I'm using a pair of Viair 444s and an accuair VU4 manifold on an 8 gallon tank. Gonna start mounting some of that stuff in the next couples days.

Thanks, it has definitely been lacking of updates but I have been hella busy since the last update with other crap.

I'm waiting on some reducer bushings for the rear shocks/mounts and I have to repair the rear brake line and I should be ready to get the bed back on. I should be way farther but my roommate was out of town most of December and I need him for the bed.

i need to make me one of those bars on my rear end. for drag racing. too much for me to make a 4 link. plus i wanna keep it looking stock, so if anyone wants to go under and look, they wont find much. with the bar being tucked above the diff (tucked right beneath the bed) it will be ninja!
