So, I absolutely love the way my truck looks, that is until i'm about 20 feet away. It's at that point all I can focus on is the hideous exhaust hanging down a mile under the truck. Has anyone here done any creative re routing to remedy the eyesore? The last time I had her on the lift I peeked around, but only came up with one viable option. To pinch the pipe and squeeze it above the Trans crossmember, or possibly notch and reinforce the crossmember to avoid restricting flow. In the near future I'll be putting my actual 22r manifold on so I can get the proper flow out of my 22r and getting a new muffler. Anyways, if anyone has any pics or other ideas that would be awesome!
I had my local exhaust shop do mine header back, and they kept it tucked up and it has a magnified right in front I the axle.. Stock routing, my crossmember has a spot for the exhaust though. I'll try to post pics when it's light out
Yeah, with the stock trans crossmember, there isn't much you can do without getting really creative. If you pinch it and run it above the crossmember, the floor get awful warm. This is what I did, mind you I have a modified member with a modification made to it. I cut a piece of pipe into it. You could do that to the stock crossmember too. Don't mind the selfie.
I did mine from the manifold down, kept it tucked against the body to a cherry bomb turbo muffler then dumped after that. Only a total length of about 3 1/2 foot of pipe including the muffler. Not to loud, and I put the muffler where the cat was so it has the heat shield... Can't even see the exhaust system.
