Anyone ever stretch some tires on steel wheels?

Reason I ask is I want to get bigger wheels and some lower profile tires with a little stretch but don't know if it will look good? I'm trying to stick to steel wheels for the price, trying to be under $400 for wheels and tires...

    I'm thinking like 16x6 or 16x7.. Whatever width I can get a 16" steel wheel in.

And input on tire specs for stretch is welcome, no matter the rim;)

i like the whole wide wheel with stretch tire look. right now im just running 15x8 -19mm all around on 195/45r15 so i can get a feel with what im working with since this is my first truck. i would of went with a smaller tire but i wanted to fill up more wheel well. i eventually want to run 16x10 maybe something with a 0 offset.

    I wonder how a 15x8 0 offset would look?

    This is a 15x8 with 4.5 BS or 0 offset with a 175-55

Are those Diamonds? I wonder how they would look on a "73? Maybe a +12 offset would be better..

When I first started this thread I meant stock steelies, but what's it matter? These trucks look sick no matter what wheels they have!:waytogo:

How far off is the speedometer and gearing with the much smaller tires?

Mine went from 26" tire to about 23 or 24" and measured by gps I'm off 10 mph at 40 and 15 mph at 70. These are only temporary till I bag it.

They are ProComp series 97 wheels.

Like I said I wish I could still run them after I bag it but as you can see they stick out a little far.

Ordered thru 4wheelparts locally. They will eventually go on my jeep once it needs tires, the jeep has the same wheels in 16s but I can save 100$ a tire for 33" tires on a 15" rim over a 16" rim.

I am almost thinking of finding these in 15x6 or something in order to tuck when I bag it with a little taller tire to get my ratio back in line and gain some highway rpms back.
