That's such a cool build. I would love to own a RHD anything. Not that they are anything special...its just something different. To those who ask why the fascination with RHD cars......Back in the early to mid 90s, shipping containers full of US built cars were being shipped over seas on a monthly basis. Mind you, a container ship can hold up to 8000 cars. Seeing a LHD car in Japan, Australia or anywhere overseas shouldn't be such a big deal. The US, on the other hand, has stricter regulations so not too many cars get imported. Ive been in the car scene since I graduated high school and in total, I have seen, in person, maybe 3 RHD cars in the last 24 yrs.
Wired even being in SoCal. There a turn of places that do RHD swap on truck in SoCal just put "RHD" on criaglist and look at 20 cars for sale. You just never see the trucks. There 3 in Cali and one back east
A few years ago a couple of my cousins did a trip to the US and were amazed about the amount of Aussie cars they saw and how many still had aussie rego plates, one such I saw as they had it on video was an xg ford falcon Ute with Victoria plates and was so rusted that no Australian would bother with it and yet it had some insane price on it. All I can say is only in America It amazes me so much the modifications that are legal in the US and for me to explain to others they can not comprehend such, but then we can not comprehend your firearm laws either and I understand why so many aussie car enthusiasts move to the US
Love the build. I'd like to RHD swap mine in the future. Those SR5 seats are clean, get the headrest too??
There are over 24 RHD (oem and swapped) cars here in Vegas. It's not that rare to see. This build is the first RHD pickup I've seen stateside though. ( besides the mail trucks lol)
24+ in a city with 700,000 (0003%) registered cars is a needle in a haystack. Very uncommon. anyways, I still want one. Cant wait to see this one finished
Touché. I was only thinking of the import scene and not on the grand scale you were. Now we are on the same page lol.
TheLoLux, Your trucks have inspired me and they are absolute favorite 2wd's. I've been a fan of 4wd 84-95 toyotas for 8 years now and have had a love for the supra as well. Never really saw the 2wds to be cool. Yours are something else. So I plan to get an 84-88 std cab soon to start my build on.
I love your truck man!!! especially the rhd!!!! I had a white 93 Toyota 2wd base pickup.it had a downey air-intake and a flowmaster exhaust along with a djm 3/4 inch drop. it had 14 inch wheels alons with 60 series tires. it was a work in progress. but it was totaled last September. but I had no insurance and I have no wheels now. but I plan to get a white 1999-2004 Toyota Tacoma sr-5 2wd pickup with a 5-spd and gray interior. it will have a turbo and be able to auto cross too!!! did you buy your white 2wd rhd project in Washington state I saw one on seattle craigslist in summer 2010 that looked just like that too!!! badass truck man keep up the good work!!!
