found this 7mgte with transmission for $750
has ARP studs with a new layered head gasket.
kinda skeptical on the fact that its been turned into a turbo'd engine and that its had to be rebuilt along with a rebuilt turbo.
    heres the link to it:
JDM 7mgte motor trans and more

If anyone can see anything that may be a red flag to avoid it let me know please. Going to contact the seller in the morning to see if its even available still.

How much of a pain is it to swap over to that motor? Does it bolt up to our 5spd?

It will bolt up to the truck's w series trans with the following:
7m W58 bellhousing and matching NA flywheel.
Might be able to use the turbo flywheel with a turbo pressure plate and W58 disc.

Personnally, I would avoid ANY 7M motor that I don't know the history of or haven't seen/heard running. You can't prove any of the claimed work without opening it up. There's no way to see the quality of the claimed 'rebuild".

I am currently in the middle of rebuilding my 7mgte, Mine was seized up, sup I'm Just wanting on funds to take it to the machine shop.
I got the head ported while it was off and apart.

You might have to fab your own mounts. I have heard that the stock 20r/22r mounts and 5mge engine brackets will work.
But I can't seem to find any in my area.

thats what I was thinking but I was going to pretty much go through it again and make sure everything was good to go with it before trying to run it in my truck.

Unfortunately the guy wont respond to me so I may not even be getting one anytime soon now. Might just save up and buy it from here 7M GTE DOHC Turbo Engine & Manual 5 Speed Transmission 89-90 - Toyota & Lexus

Just keep checking Craig's list. They pop up often.
Look for one with a bad head gasket.
But make sure you get the metal head gasket for it if you plan on boosting.

Well its set to be picked up next friday. $900 for engine, ecu, w58, stage 4 clutch, light weight flywheel, and intercooler. Get an extra intercooler, complete gasket set and a shock. Idk what the shock is for but eh its free. Looks like I'll be living on some ramen noodles for the next month to get my money situation back up and going since I had just purchased my new wheels about 45mins before I came across the listing.

I will. It will probably be a long process since I don't make much money what so ever so parts take a month or so to save up for at a time :( I do look forward to the fun and challenge that this will bring though.

I figured getting 2 intercoolers, a stage 4 clutch and a lightweight flywheel would be close to like $500 if I were to buy them on their own. I'm gonna see if I can get it down a little more when I actually have the money in hand.

Finally got my 7mgte dropped in.
The 5mge mounts perfectly position the engine.the only trouble I'm gonna have is finding a radiator to fit.

I think the Toyota V6 radiator may work for you. For me I had one made. Also the supra radiator may work. I did the same swap about 8 or 9 years ago. Didn't get it running. Lost interest in it. 7mgte sitting in truck now. Only need intercooler connected, wiring and gas line hooked up to get it running. Check out youtube on wiring a 7MGTE, only about 4 or 5 wires needed to get it running. My engine was completely rebuilt from top to bottom. Everything new was added down to oil pump. Also new wire harness, clutch, pressure plate and rebuilt tranny. Going to pull engine out in a couple of weeks and try to sell it. I have been collect part now for about 8 months to do a LSX swap into the truck. A few more parts to go. With your 7m swap make sure your have enough clearance between your oil pan and your steering link. For me I notched my oil pan for the needed clearance. If I can help you in anyway on the installation feel free to message me.

My terrible paying job has prevented me from making any progress on the swap which sucks cuz I want it to be done now. The wiring harness is all intact so thats all good there. Im trying to figure out how to get my 5MGE mounts to bolt to the engine cuz I took off the mounts that are bolted to the 7m and only 1-2 of the holes would line up so idk if there was something I was missing. I have a 7m radiator that im going to work into putting in because i found a guy here:7mgte 2wd hilux swap (its gonna take a while) - StanceWorks that used one so I was just gonna follow what he had done (hopefully.) As of now the truck is still my daily and if i can work on it this winter i will but dont have a closed garage so its gonna be cold and difficult to do so. just need to get tags and insurance on my Blazer to get the tear down process begun on the toyota. Still slowly collecting pieces for the swap so hopefully the beginning of the year will bring me a new swapped engine!

I read through the StanceWorks thread you posted....He could have given more detail, but i'm glad he kept up on it. I'm sure he will keep going until its a 7mgte like he originally planned.

The "mid sump" oil pan fix is a MAJOR score of information from that thread!!!

Here is a link to a thread i've had bookmarked for a while...Lots of information. Just ignore the "front sump" talk, since he is 4x4. Hope it helps you out:
