Anybody know anything about an L42 sideshift? I'm trying to top off the oil... not sure where though.. none of my manuals cover this specific trans...

I *want* to say that the fill/check plug is on the driver side of the transmission.

That truck looks familiar, I think I test drove it a few weeks back with the intent to buy it. I am slightly regretting not picking it up, but I had to save my money to get my car back on the road.

 

Without a schematic I worry about the reverse detent. messed that up on a different car a long time ago. Lesson: don't do if if you don't know. replaced that old trans, don't want to replace this one...yet.

 

Yes drivers side, not too far behind the bell housing, 24mm socket. Fill until it begins puking the oil back out at you.
