I think I'm in need of a new one on my 88 22r.
I'm gonna try new tappets and adjusting nuts. But I THINK I have a rocker going sideways I've got 1 rocker that makes a much louder tick then all lol the others. And I've adjusted them half a billion times. I'm down to 15 minute valve adjusts. Cold hot 8/12 7/11 6/10 I've done em all. The noise changes but I still have one ungodly obnoxious tick.. more of a tack

Engbldr doesn't sell em anymore. Does anyone know a cost effective rocker assembly for sale?

I gotta stick with the aluminum. Much quieter. And I'm not sure if they would fit. But thanks@

They are interchangeable. I've run both on 20r heads. Alloy is a bit revvier but its hard to narrow the feel off the effect when the whole system is working as a vehicle. But I still prefer them. Ill keep my eyes open at work what trucks in the yard have some.

Thanks bud! I may need shafts and rockers. The whole Assy would be awsome. I'll get new tappets and nuts at the dealer. But much appreciated

Alright bud sweet. Wiggle those rockers make sure they can't move up and down on that shaft. Obviously they can slide but shouldn't wiggle side to side. Though cold won't tell alot.

Taking them apart is super easy! You just have to figure out which end everything slides off.. And take pics or have an extra set for reassembling everything correctly.

I used to have like give sets of iron rockers so if I had issues I swapped the whole thing. I never even inspected my alloy set in the motor for extra wiggle. Ill have to next time I do the valves. Prob when I fix my headers cracked welds and add an O2 bung. Anyways ill keep an eye out for ya. Need any other parts? There's a bunch of trucks in the yard.

I'm gonna rip my motor out and throw it on the ground and use my Chevrolet to drag it until I only hear a chain jingling across the asphalt...
I had a bad day of engine ticking. I'm gonna pull the valve cover again tomorrow and really check rockers slop check all pads. Pull tappets and check and try and pinpoint.

The actual reason for this post: are there any bushings or anything in between the rocker arm and the mount? I would assume there must be sum thin there. Aluminum rubbing on aluminum can't go well long.

Figured that **** out. Cams going flat and the lobe is wearing at an angle. So every time the lobe lifts the rocker it moves against the spring pressure about a 1/16th inch. And then slaps back! So cams under Warranty and in tracking down factory rocker set as we speak. I feel great just KNOWING the issue

Cam being warrantied. Found a very ideal rocker set at the wrecker for 30 bucks. Tappets ordered from dealer will arrive in the morning. Then it's a matter of swapping it out without messing up my fresh headgasket. Given I put ARP head studs in there I think it should go fairly smooth.
