Drop blocks are a prove method in back for sure- use the angled ones if going 3" or greater drops- and loosen up your middle carrier bearing mounts befor driving on the drop(or you'll experience premature wear on this expensive part.) 4" or greater you should really consider notching the frame. Up front you are limited to unloading the torsions and possibly a ball joint flip- but even I was confused on this process...There are little things like the taper in the steering knuckles that prevented this from being a safe recommendation IMO. BUT if you swap on the 88-93 front end parts minus the torsion bars and you can install Belltech 2" drop spindles and safely go about 3" drop without hitting stuff, greater if you install 4x4 fenders and such. This is the route I took, till I got stuck in the snow on a flat in my driveway (1-2"?!) so now I went the other way... 2" body lift extra spring in the rear and ball joint spacers up front (with the same 89 front end stuff)... I can't believe I can rock 31x10.50's on this set up with ZERO rubbing issues (15x8 rims with 3.5" offset)
