I don't think you get much of that, 15x8 barely tucks, depending on your back spacing. I guess well see though.
Looks great...but seriously...how does that setup not rub the fenders? My truck sits higher than yours...and i rub in fast turns and driveways. etc
If you look he has a stretched tire. This allows clearance while having "poke", look at some VIP cars, same think they do, you can camber front and rear as well for clearance. IFS will run on an arch and allow natural clearance and a solid axel rear will need camber. JMO
VWVortex.com - all you ever needed to know about **stretched tires and poke** but were afraid to ask. Link to some answers
the front has some negative camber that with the natural travel of the suspension, will curve the top of the wheel inward and avoid hitting the fender. the rear however, as noted travels straight up and down. i will stretch, roll, and pull the fenders till they barely clear the wheel and stiffen my rear suspension travel or adjust the bump stops properly to avoid any inner fender rubbing. you would need to swap in an IRS rear end in like the cars have.
I still don't get the whole super wide 15 on stretched tires thing. I could understand a small stretch, or a really wide rim. But why on 15s? The rim is like a fat girl. Almost as wide as it is tall. And it can't be good for a 6" tire to get stuffed into a 9" hoop.
the tire patch is roughly 8" wide. mounted on a 15x10... it would guarantee all 8" of tire would contact the ground at all times. the stretch wont be that extreme on a 205/50..... ive seen crazier. i just think that is gonna look clean on my truck. i have had this vision ever since i got the truck. lol
One of two questions: 1. Are those diamond wheel steelies you got there? 2. HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET THE EXHAUST TO COME DOWN THE SIDE AND HAVE THE MUFFLERS POKING OUT LIKE? I would really appreciate if you took the time to explain it because i have plans to do this to my truck however i was waiting to see it on someones truck here so i can ask and here u are lol
I have a 93' base, I got a reallllly good deal on a set of 15x9. I'm not sure the offset tho, I was wandering what would be a good size tire? It's not lowered but I do plan on lowering it, not slamming it just to give it a better looking stance, the most I will go is 3" in the rear, I want a stretched look but not to extreme, the roads where I'm from aren't the best but they could be a lot worse also, any Info to give me a good starting point is much appreciated. Shout out to SD YOTA for an amazing looking truck
ok, the wheels shown are 15x10 cragar soft 8's. they had a -38 offset (4"bs) the exhaust is run tucked up in the frame, its a 18" long round canister and is run under axle, then split after the axle into the duals you see in the rear shot. if you wanna go a mild stretch, a 205/50 or 215/50 may be a bit more reserved of a stretch and still look good on a 15x9. if you dont slam it, you should clear just fine... keep the offset at a maximum of -38 and lower, and you'll be fine on clearance.
yes. flip the wheel over to the mounting side of the wheel. take a ruler and butt it up to the wheel mounting surface... run a straight edged object (a level works nice if you have one) and run it across the wheel and measure it there. then, use any conversion chart that will cover inches to millimeters and you will have your number.
Okay so correct me if am wrong but did you go off by how the original exhaust of your truck ran down your truck? In other words i notice normally the exhaust of these trucks go off to the left side (driver side) and instead u got a straight mufflers to go out the back or wat? Am srry if i sound dumb but am trying to figure out what u did
