What year? Electric pump or mechanical? Stock carb or weber? It could be a bad fuel pump relay. The pumps themselves wear out. I have done a few bed removals to swap pumps. Easy task with a helper of engine hoist. I always pull my bed alone with a hoist. Good luck with it and welcome to the site.

Thanks for welcoming me to the site!!
It's an 77 an it has an electric fuel pump in the tank
Stock carb. The fuel filter does not have any gas in it
I just put a new pump in. I put 5gal in the tank and
Have cranked it over way too many times!! :)
Was thinking that it somehow still has air in line?
Or maybe it needs to be full?
Also the salvage yard tested it before they sent it.
Good news is that fuel gauge works now!

It sounds like your pump isn't getting power. The relay is on the bottom of the steering column above the brake pedal. The wiring itself could also have corrosion at the firewall plug. I would check those next. The relay is out of production so you'd have to wire a universal relay on with new connectors. Not too tough. I have fought similar issues with my 78. You should have enough gas in the tank, and it would push any air through with fuel behind it.

Could also be the little check valve right after the pump in the tank. If it lets the flow out early it won't make it down the lines.

Awesome thanks for the help! Funny thing is the gas gauge didn't work on
The old sending unit (small thin windings toast) and now the gauge works but not the pump! LOL!
Well if it is blow and it sounds like it is I can swap them out
    Thanks again!

Mine had the relay go out and all I did was cut the wires and put a toggle switch between the power wire(cant remember what color)and the black/red wire for the pump.

Works perfectly now! I have no idea what the other wires from the relay are for but I didn't hook them to anything and haven't had any problems..

I have put a jumper wire into my relay plug before to bypass it too. Until I found another working relay at a junk yard. If I have anymore I will send you one. Ill look in my parts stash. Or a toggle can be ran.

    Awesome!
I'll try the swap and see what happens
This time I'll make sure it works before I put it back in!
Also I'll make note of the relay if it still doesn't work

Also I noticed that the pump on the pic looks
Brand new is it? If it is where can I get one?

Yup. All the parts stores have them. It's the second one ive put in. First ones strainer fell apart and got into the pump. Replacement parts quality has gone to hell these days. Anyways, yeah, they're available.
