Long story short.... Need to replace the timing chain cover on my 95' 22re. There are entire kits (cover, chain, water pump, oil pump) on eBay ranging from $90 to $130.
Seems too good to be true! It looks like they're selling a **** ton of em though and all the sellers have good feedback/ ratings
So has anybody here used one of these kits?
I need to get my little turd of a truck back up and running ASAP!

I apologize if this has been covered before. My data reception here at work is next to nothing so searching is damn near impossible.

I've seen mentions of this site on a few youtube videos.

    Great reputation I guess.

I added up what I need and I'm just shy of $200. Not bad. And yes I'm all about backing up a buisness that does people right.

Unfortunantly my original question still stands... are the ebay kits substandard junk?
I'm a student, I have two kids and christmas is right around the corner= I'm broke!!!!
If the ebay kits are the same thing for half the price I need to go that way out of necessity for the time being. This ****s kinda an emergency situation!!!
At the same time if the ebay parts aren't worth a **** I can't afford to have an unreliable vehicle!

So... has anybody actually used one of the ebay kits and can they comment on the quality of the kit?

I have no experience with the ebay parts but I've used plenty of engnbldr's parts with great success. If it was me I'd just get the timing kit with metal guide and timing cover combo then pick up a water pump locally for $20. I've never heard of a R series oil pump failure. Ever.

Ive used the ebay parts...never had an issue..not OEM but they do work...so. I guess the best advice is proceed at your own risk.

    Like all eBay stuff....

My timing chain cover is from eBay too. No problems that I've found yet.

You could always buy just the cover off eBay and the other stuff from engnbldr or wherever you prefer..

I appreciate the feedback! I'm trying to pull together the $ to go through engnbldr. I know that's the safer way to go. But I may end up having to roll the dice with the eBay stuff.

I got mine from engnbldr through his ebay store.

Ebay doesn't sell anything. ebay is an intermediary for others to sell stuff to you. not all ebay parts are the same quality.
