Yesterday I installed 4" lowering blocks and now one side is about an inch lower than the other. I bought new shocks thinking that it would fix it but no what do I do? Thanks
2 options. Use a smaller block on the low side or use one on these bolt on leaf spacers on the high side...they come in 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", or 1". Streetacos makes custom steel blocks in increments of 1/4", which means you can order them any way you want for trucks with the lean. Example: 4" and a 3-1/2". BLOCK / ONE / LEAF SPRING SPACER 3/4" / ALL TOYOTA TRUCKS
Is it lower on the gas tank side? this is common as that side carries more weight regularly. A good spring shop can re-arch your leaf springs and make them even. or theres always replacing them.
What about taking the leaf packs apart and swapping some side to side to even out the one side sag? Or like said, get uneven blocks.
maybe the overload spring was installed backwards (or upside down). or one of the springs was installed backwards? just some more ideas before u start spending more money. try measure the leafs n compare them
Was the truck uneven before you put the drop blocks on? If not then it has to be something missed during the install.
Measure frame to ground & body/bed to ground!! If problem is @ body/bed (& should be in less the frame is tweaked),slims /spacers will fix the problem!
The official way to measure ride height is from the front leaf bolt to the ground. The weight of fuel in the tank will not cause noticeable lean. 13g tank isn't even 100 lbs fully loaded and it's between the frame rails, not far off center. Even my 275lb self doesn't make the truck lean that much. No matter what anyone here says, the best thing you can do is get a tape measure and figure out yourself exactly where the difference is. Measure things like: ground to frame ground to axle axle to frame ground to bottom of bed ground to top of fender opening etc
Thanks guys for the help I'm just gonna sit like that until I get the beltech leaf springs but here is how she sits
clean looking truck. I see that my truck sometimes sit little higher on the passenger side. Could it possibly be the front left corner is sitting lower?
On top of the leaf pack on a 5 lug (spring under axle) will lower the truck, on bottom of the leaf pack on a 6 lug truck (spring over axle) will raise the truck. btw...your truck already had the Yota Lean before you installed the blocks, you just never noticed it until you lowered it and your fenders got closer to the tires and you were now looking at it closer than ever before.
I had the same problem when I lowered the front. All the sudden I noticed the passenger side sat lower than the driver. Little torsion bar tweeking fixed that right up. NOTE OF CAUTION on the belltech leaf springs. There are a lot of websites out there giving the wrong part number. I have an 85 and the majority of places say I need part# 5978. This was wrong. According to belltech's website, 79-88 is part# 5976. Belltech's tech support has the dimensions if you want to do some measuring before hand. I'm in the process of waiting for a set of these. I got one from autopartswarehouse, but it didn't have any bushings, so they are supposedly getting me some from belltech. Other place that said they had it in stock didn't, but it's supposed to be delivered from belltech next week. We'll see. I ordered them from source other than belltech cause the average price is 136 and usually you can find coupon codes. They are 170 from belltech.
bj flip problem OK so I removed the middle leaf spring today and it evened out. Idk how but it did but another problem I ran into was when I was going to do the bj flip I noticed this little shield preventing me from doing this? Has anyone encountered this problem??
If I'm not mistaken that's the turning stop, mine didn't get in the way. Although after the BJ flip it now shaved it down far enough to allow to go past the stop. I'll go look at mine and take a pic.
Nothing is in the way. The 2 nuts are connected by a piece of sheetmetal so once you pull those bolts and the other two out and put the balljoint on the top of the arm just flip the sheetmetal connected nuts on upside down and reinstall the bolts.
