Send me a pm with more info. Id love to have more car buddies to cruise with. I don't know hardly anybody with cool rigs except the few people I met here over the years.
Lower it till you can't drive it and raise it half an inch! On a real note I purchased 3 inch blocks and immediately regretted my decision of just going straight to 4 inch ones.
That's why Toyota put 3 leafs in the spring pack. Throw the center one into the scrap pile when you install them. It's debatable how it effects the ride. Mine actually got stiffer because the full length leaf sat onto the thicker overload. Sometimes people say it softens up.
Well I have 4.5" blocks and pulled the middle. I have no notch and there's about an inch from the axle to frame. It slaps alot, but doesn't hit too hard. Better shocks would help but mine suck.
if you do middle leaf and 4" blocks you'll be hitting the frame. on average, middle leaf removal on most of my drops are worth around 3-3.5" of drop.
I built my blocks from two broken sets of cast aluminum DJM 4" blocks. Tops cracked so I cut them down and ran the leaf bolt through them. Zero movement after that. There may also be slight differences in the rear frame design from the coil spring hilux to the torsion trucks. So what works for me might not work for everybody. But it tucks most of the tire all around so it keeps me smiling lol
So I figured I'd update you guys on the truck after I lowered it, I went with a 4" DJM block in the back and the 2" bell tech drop spindles in the front, the other 2 " I got by loosening the torsions... What do you guys think?
That looks good! I'm a sucker for stock looking trucks. I guess it's the simplicity and cleaness they have. Looks very good dropped.
Lmao I did the same but thank god that beefed taco hadn't sent me the 3 inch blocks or made them. I emailed him on Monday to request the 4 inch ones instead. For the front I'm doing 2 inch spindles with bj flip and torsion crank til it evens out. Let's see if I don't change my mine again and want to go lower. Very clean truck. Got the wheel and barrel gap to 0. How's it riding?
