I am trying to remove my dash for painting and my gauge cluster for led switch. I can't seem to really find any write ups. I've got majority of dash off but can't seem to get my gauge cluster out. I have to put a new ignition lock cylinder assembly in too. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated. The truck is an 89 p/u standard base 2wd model

Gauge cluster is held in by 4 screws. One at each corner. You could possibly have a cable driven speedo, look behind to see if you do. It kinda snaps on, so you'll have to release it. If you don't see a cable goin to back of speedo, it's just wires. You can't mess up and put tem back in the wrong spot. They'll only fit in one spot.

Got the bezel off and took the 4 bolts out but it doesn't budge. I actually tore the clear face of the gauges off trying to get it out

Hmmm .. Well the four screws are the only thing holding it from the factory if u have a cable speedo sometimes the cable is pulled tight and won't let the cluster move very well so it doesn't budge at all not even shake a little ?
