Are there any swaps that don't require lots of fabrication or parts other than the motor and possibly trans , or that have a swap kit ? doesn't need tons of power . Just for my daily

you will not be able to do any engine swap for less then just replacing the stock 22r. only exception would be if you already had an engine and trans laying around and they worked flawlessly.

if you like your truck then dont go cheap and put in a crap, no name 22r rebuild either. it will cost more now but it will save you many headaches and more downtime in the future. i learned this the hard way a few years ago.

yea... sounds like the most inexpensive way to get yer truck up n runnin is to replace youre blown motor.

if you really wanna do a swap without too much fab, but want some more power. theres always a first gen chevy or ford small block swap. cheap power. reliable and simple.

You can always try a motor from the u-pull-it yards. usually cheap and between your blown motor and the donor one, you should be able to piece a workable one together.
Either that, or find me a 5.0 Explorer thats wrecked but runs and I'll trade you that for my 22R. Fresh carb rebuild!

    No? damn! ;)

I kinda have the same deal going on. I was wondering what kind of engines will bolt up to the G57 trans? Cuz I'm thinking if my engine goes maybe a V8 or supra moto, somethin.

The 7MGE swap can be cheap if you can find a great deal on the whole car and score some junk yard finds. Im in my 7M swap for about 1500, including the Supra that I bought and drove for 2 months before the swap. The only downside to a swap is the down time of your truck, where you can swap in a new 22R in less then a day.
