Can someone tell me what do I need, to do this mod i got a 95 toyota hilux .I've seen a lot of write ups about this topic but I still can't get it step by step. These guys put up some good write ups don't get me wrong but I just want to go more into detail. So if someone can give me steps to do this I would greatly appreciate it thankyou
There's no exact one way to do it. If you can't figure it out from multiple write-ups, you should enlist the help of someone who knows enough to help you fill in the spaces. Don't you have any friends that are into trucks or at least engines that know their way around a toolbox?
Ever get it figured out? Here's mine: remove the tape and pull the AFM wiring out of the harness to the back of the head, re-wrap it independantly and run it to the RF corner. $15 in autozone intake elbow and boots, cone I had laying around, extend the battery wiring (could do it with 2 3-footers and some ends, I did the whole thing over, needed new grounds and power wires all over) That's about it. Not any measurable power difference (course I also have a 3.07 swapped in), definitely audible, lot more space in the engine bay.
Personally I've felt a slightly quicker throttle response and much more fulfilled power delivery. Intake is now on the cool side of the motor, fresh air delivered to the intake via ducting (note, as I'm moving) Get an isolated battery terminal post so you can safely mount positive wires on the passenger side then get new cables to lead to the battery side.
