    Hey guys,
I needa change out the clutch for my truck, its really hard to shift and my clutch pedal is very soft...somewhat feels like it wont even let me put the truck in gear....what do you guys recommend i do and what components do you think i need to replace?

That sounds like maybe a master cylinder issue.

i would check out either clutch master or slave cylinder first. a worn or bad clutch will slip through higher gears under torque.

also, have you replaced the shifter seat bushing ever on this truck? if its worn or disintegrated it will make it really difficult to get into gear and sometimes pop out too since the alignment of the shifter inside the seat is off.

go look at the fluid in the resivoir. if its black or has metal shavings, it may be due for replacement. also, if there are any signs of leaking. check under the dash where the pedal assembly connects to it, if its wet near the back side where the master cylinder connects to the pedal assembly, its probably going bad.

look under the passenger side of the transmission and check on the slave cylinder, if its leaking, its also signs of a bad slave cylinder.

me personally, i would change both master and slave cylinders at the same time.

to check the shifter seat, take apart the shifter boot assembly and take the shifter out. look inside and inspect the shifter seat bushing. if its desintegrated, its time to order a new one from LCEngineering.com they are not expensive and will restore your shifters performance.

Thanks SD YOTA. I'll take a look at it and see if they need replacing.
