I'm hoping this turns into one of those ongoing posts where people chime in with crazy ideas that pop into theyre head.
    Here's mine for today:
I've used the Car2go car sharing program a few times. Its convenient because I can just look for a car near my work, hop in and drop it off near my house. no having to take a rental car back and its cheaper than a cab to get home when I don't want to take the bus. They use exclusively Smart cars and driving around in the little cars gave me an idea:
I really like the looks and size of the Smart cars steering wheel. My idea was to put one of the steering wheels in my truck, minus the airbag, but with the cover attached. I would take off the Smart logo and replace it with a Toyota logo to make it look right. What does everyone think?

Here's an interior shot of one style of the steering wheel:

And here's another (wheel is upside-down):

I haven't seen a smart car steering wheel but. I do understand the need to upgrade the relatively large and boring stock wheel on these trucks .. Guess it boils down to will it fit or how much they want for wanna those ... I've seen lots of cool oem steering wheels .. That I'd love to use . But there's always that will t fit and be safe

It could be done. Why not find a cool aftermarket steering wheel? Or one from another Toyota? I've run celica wheels, and 79-83 sr5s. Lotta other cool options too.

There are lots of options for aftermarket. I'm sure a smart car wheel could be adapted to the 3/5 bolt hub.

I've got a stupid idea for you...

Have you ever had a misaligned wiper sprayer that shoots up over the windshield? They're perfect for when you're on the freeway and someone's tailgating you, just spray them to say hi. Well my truck right now only has the driver side sprayer, the pass. side broke off so the hole is covered with duct tape. I got a coolant reservoir for free a few weeks ago and I want to hook it up to a fighter jet toggle switch and wiper fluid pump and aim the nozzle straight up in the air on that side so I can really spray people who are getting too close >:) or just have fun while I'm cruisin... maybe get a sticker that says 'yeah... it's piss'

LoL!Good idea. My Explorer (and I imagine any car with a rear wiper) has a tube that runs straight to the back hatch. It wouldn't be hard to rig up a stock washer pump and spray nozzle from a junk yard onto the back of a truck. say, between the bottom of the tailgate and top of the bumper.
Aimed right, it could spray right onto the hood/windshield of the car behind you. :waytogo:

My stupid idea today was throwing a bouncy ball at the guy tailgating me on the freeway. I bet it bounced really high.

I saw a Craigslist listing for a Datsun 510 wagon that had hardwood floor in the back, and thought "I wonder if I could do my can floor?" it would probably be hard to do the curves, more like impossible..
