This one should be fun. We have probably all done mods we later think is retarded. I used to have green tribal flames on my ram charger. I've had PA systems with sound effects. I've had Shrek as a shift knob. I've had my whole 4th gen dash done in zebra duct tape. Ill dig up pics for proof.

Everybody tell about or post pics of the silliest crap you've embarrassed yourself with.

My '82 2wd had aluminum running boards and neon tubes under them.

Same truck had 88-98 Chevy pickup euros flipped upside down and swapped left to right and "molded" in with a ton of fiberglass and bondo. Looked like ass.

I had neon lights in the interior of my 300zx that would pulse with the bass of music. It was like a 90's club in my car.

I made some spiderweb speaker grills for my 6x9s when I had my 68 C10. I had accidently bought some speakers with blue LEDs in them so I went ahead and hooked them up as well.

I use to have hydraulics back in the day! I decorated the back in the snug top area with mirrors and crushed velvet and I had a cushion on the tailgate to sit on at shows

89 Regular Cab. The weirdo with the stock suspension.
Back when I had my first car, a late 80's Ford Escort. That poor car went through a host of mods that my 16-19 year old self thought was cool but now makes me cringe.
an 18 and two 15 inch woofers in the back in a ghetto, plywood box that was never really finished. it almost bottomed out the struts in the back. Later on I took the box out and put the 18 in the back, bolted into an old racing tire. An actual Goodyear racing slick.
Then it got the CB treatment, first with a window mount antenna and then with dual 4-foot antennas hanging off the rear bumper.
Then in the early-mid 90's (before everyone was souping up small cars around here) I built a flow-through exhaust for it that replaced the muffler and cat with straight pipes. Those little 1.9's are frigging LOUD with no muffler, so I went to Super Shops (remember them?) and got the smallest glass pack muffler they had. Like I said, it was before the import scene had really gotten to colorado, so the counter guys had quite a laugh.
Then came the wheels and tires: 80's Mustang Turbines! which had the same 4-lug bolt pattern as the Escorts. A slegde hammer and block or wood helped cure the clearance of the wider tire and it actually looked pretty good.
I still have my long-suffering car. Its in storage, waiting for the next phase: Which will be a tube frame, cage and a 460 with a roots supercharger sticking through the hood. WIDE tires front and back with fender flares to cover and large lights on the front bumper. Sort of a big motor, American version of a european rally car. Which of course, in a decade will be the next embarassment. :waytogo:

man... im trying to think here but i cant really recall anything i ever did to my trucks that i thought up as tacky..... i think ive been pretty tasteful on all my mods on my trucks through the years. maybe the only thing i did if i recall was changing the color in my dash lights to like a blue.... changed em back to red or orange or something...

I wish I had pics of my 1st truck back in the day. Was a '79 dodge stepside that had all the dumb pep boys crap on it. I thought it was cool then... :puke: I even welded a honda tuner style exhaust under it. Hahahaha. Sounded good though.
