Ok tittle says it! Just curious on who is using there stuff. What mods have you done to your truck. And have you noticed any good power differences? I plan on getting there header and an intake for a good first start. Lets here what ya got.
I have 1 part from them...valve cover. lol Nah on the real they do have some good parts for the 20r / 22r. Just a bit expensive...try and look at buying directly from the source, it may cut some cost. For the 2rz / 3rz look up Luis Corujo...he has the cheapest parts around!
I've got a 1 5/8" pro header that I picked up cheap. They have some nice stuff but for the most part it's extremely over rated and over priced. Between engnbldr.com, deltacam.com and summitracing.com there isn't much you can't get that's comparable to LCE for half the cost or less. If you want a bit more power a header is a good start but there is absolutely no point in dropping money on a bored out intake and whatnot since the factory computer limits amount of power that can be made severely. A mild cam, free flowing exhaust with header, properly cleaned injectors, tweaked afm and a good over all tune will net the most out of a N/A 22re.
They build my motors and I have been buying from them for over ten years. You get what you pay for and I want the best in my truck. I do not know about the other manufacturer's products that they re-sell. Their customer support and technical assistance is the best period.
The do know their stuff. A bit pricey tho. Lots of it can be had at other places but lots can't. I've run their small parts. I always port my own intake and run pace setter headers.
Yes,I first used they products when my truck was my commuter & work truck & blew a head gasket ,so their cam, valve train with headers went in! A very good improvement! Sense than I have built over the last 12 years a show truck ,many many mods ,on full air ride ,lays frame ,etc! See my gallery & post! I run their Pro Street EFI, with all that they recommended to me!! Very ,very fast!! And the millage is good, if I stay @ 65 can get 31,most times I get 28-23,still great! I have put 25,000 plus miles on the engine, drive the truck weekly & to shows all over. Will be driving to a show up in Wash. State in Aug,around 1,600 mile trip ! Recommend them all the time & like said they tech guys are great!!

The biggest complaint you hear about them is price. But when there's only a few sources then it drives up prices. They have their own head castings and many other parts they build. I would say anything from them is good. But I agree with the people above, that much of it can be sourced from other vendors to save money. And personally, I won't ever pay for an aftermarket Toyota intake manifold. The stock ones of all types seem to take a noticeable improvement in power and response by porting them yourself. If you have EFI, there are two stock intakes. The newer style flows a tad better, so I would vote to find one of those and port it. It's always wise to port a 2nd intake. Then if you run into problems you still have the one on the truck. It also makes down time less. Port the part at your leisure then just swap them out.
ive bought and ran LCE products in my trucks over the years as well. yes they are expensive and if i can source a similar or same part from a competitor for less or even half, i have and will. loved their short shifter. excellent quality. will buy another from them for my 3vz truck. LOVED their flywheel i bought for my 22R build, they did a price match to the fidanza flywheel and they since then dropped price on their 22r flywheels. ran various intake block plates and such, adapters. good fitment and quality. ive run their cams and they are the best!! got my balanced injectors from them as well. good price. intake kits from them were expensive but quality of them were pimptacular!! headers have improved from the days i bought them and stuck with downey. once downey went under, i bought another header from them and their quality had since improved. bought my shifter seat from them as well. same shifter rebuild seats that marlin crawler makes but not as expensive as them. some other high end parts like their heads and timing chain kits i sourced from engnbldr and they were just as if not nicer quality.
LC Engineering is backed by Toyota,as they build some of their racing engines for here in the states!! Reason for the higher prices is the quality & knowage that goes into their parts!
Running LCE internals, pulleys, oil and water pump double roll timing chain kit yes its over priced but its worth it in the long run
Just saying there's other cheaper options...All I have from LC Engineering is a valve cover...lol Paradise racing provided awesome prices for all my big purchases. Pauter rods, arias pistons, arps main and headstuds, REV valve train, stage 2 comp cams, custom pieced turbo kit and megasquirt. Runs like stock when cruising but is a beast in boost. Still while maintaining a/c, power steering and heater. And still getting 20+ mpgs and with 434 whp and 368tq...numbers speak for themselves. Just saying if you know how to work on a motor, LC isn't the only source for good quality products. Have a good one ya'll...
X2 built a motor using paradise racing forged h beam rods and Aries pistons .and a outlaw head and cam cut and skinnied crank .all arp bolts bout 1700 dollars ..built and machined myself ....6 years running with abnormal torture
I'm Definitely going to buy a header from them. 304 stainless and ceramic coating is well worth the buy to last a very long time. I'm sure fitment is very good as well. Probably buy an air intake from them and a valve cover also.
That's about all you can do as for n/a power... turbo would be my recommendation. But you could do a couple other things. Clutch, flywheel and maybe lower gearing.
Pretty much it header exhaust intake clutch/flywheel Electric fan conversion is always a good one Intakes on the 22re trucks can be done several ways check some of the threads dyi about swapping the intake to the battery side vice versa .. Or building a Inclosed box .. Saves a bunch of cash and most parts available at your parts stores
I'm running lc stage 5 valve train, a adjustable cam sprocket, Holley adapter plate, intake plug kit, plug wire loom and maybe a few other things. I always get a chuckle for the people asking about engnbldr oversized valves/ head. 1mm over?? That's not much. All TOP quality bits from the valve seats, to guides, springs and retainers. They are Ferra valves which are top of the line. Very impressed with their stuff. The price only hurts once
1mm can make a difference when combined with supporting air flow ..it's hard to squeeze power from a r series engine in general specially using stock internals . So any support u can squeeze from technically 1m plus size 47mm valves micro-miter out Makes a difference ask any old skewl VW engine builder the power is in the details . Skip one or more minor thing and get smoked buy the guy that didn't Stock 20 r valves . Intake 43x8.5 intake- exhaust 36x8.5 Stock 22r valves 45x8.5 intake exhaust 36x8.5 Plus sized measuring from 47mm to 47.9 thousands a hair from 48 depending on valve seat depth and rested valve height
I've added all the bolt ons from LCE to my truck Headers Race wires Ported upper and lower intake plenum Big bore throttle body EFI performer camshaft NGK Iridium Plugs I made by own intake years ago and I am running an AFM from a 82 Supra Performance gains we're definitely noticeable I am considering the thottle body spacer and the under drive kit next ... Has anyone had any experience with either of these items ? Also was looking into the AFM to MAF conversion kit , supposed to make 10hp on bone stock truck. I was also told by LCE that the stock ECU can go make any power past 160HP , so trying to achieve more than that without stand alone engine management isn't possible.
