hi guys my names Jerico. I moved out to san diego 2 years ago (Marines) but im originally from Jacksonville, Florida. i just picked up a 1979 longbed a couple weeks ago from HOSHPOSH here on the site. good guy. took real good care of the truck and couldnt be any happier with the purchase. props go out to him for making the truck the way it is now... looking to do a little few things here and there but im still new to the whole minitruck scene. my previous cars have been mostly imports. tC. rsx. civic. integra. s2000's. never a minitruck.. (right now my daily driver is a chrysler 300. but getting rid of it for something newer soon). so ill probably be having a lot of questions and plan to learn as much as i can about them.. well heres how she sits right now. put a tad bit bigger wheels and pulled the fenders in the rear about an inch soo i can still tuck when layed out. as you guys remembered her... how she sits for now... till i figure out what wheels i want to get next.. previous cars... daily
Hey Jerico, Welcome to the site! Glad to see the truck go to a good and caring home. I'm excited to see where you are going to take the truck. It's been my second build for this generation of yota's, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask. I got a lot of buddies that live on trucks too, so if you ever need any work or help with something just give me a call. So I know someone is going to ask it, so it might as well be me. . . . What's next?
sweet man! good to see this went to a good home. lots of work went into this truck....... i LOVE the new fitment with the wheels. this is what the truck really needed to give off that mean stance. good luck with the build man, ill be keeping an eye on it.
I really appreciate it man definitely wouldn't mind meeting guys who are knowledgeable on the truck that i can learn from since i really dont know too many people out here. whats next... right now just small things when i get the time off from work.. planning on stripping the interior and redoing the headliner and door panels. custom shift boot. looking for a bench seat to throw in. new steering wheel and shift knob. im not too worried about the motor as of yet. i want to run a new exhaust on it. eventually do a motor swap, shaved bay and paint. but itll come with time. i honestly like it the way it is right now.
Welcome Jerico!!! Glad you acquired a well cared for truck. HOSHPOSH really hooked you up!!! I will always favor the '79-'83 trucks! Let me know if I can help you locate any parts. I can be a good source. Rick
i like it too. but i gotta do something new to it you know? my new steering wheel will be in next week so ill let you know.
