I'm doing the tranny crossmember on my 92 yota! My question is can u mount it solid or should make it rubber mounted like the cando cross members? Has anyone mounted them solid? I thought about just buying the cando one but it looks so simple to build! Thanks!

Kbs has it for 130.. its easier as far as labor and costvto buy one vs. Building one.. I debated this same thing man

Whatever you do have to be removable in order to drop the tranny. Like mutinytattoo said KBS's cross member is super light, strong and easy to remove if you need to remove the trans. I have it myself. It is semi weld-in, there are to tabs that you weld in to put the bolt-in section in. :waytogo:

It all depends on the person. I was gonna buy one an thought why buy it when I have the 2x3 laying right here. Plus I woulda cut tht one up for an exhaust cut out like I wanted.

I was going to make it removable without a dought! What I meant was should mount the trans solid with no rubber mount! Thanks for the info!

No. It needs to be bushing mounted for vibration and engine torque. These factors actually twist the engine and trans...pop the hood, and flip the throttle plate right quick and watch it twist.

THis is absolutely correct. If u do solid mount it u would have to solid mount the motor to and you wont like it! Say hello to crumbling interior and rattle galore

As said before, you can solid mount everything, but it will transfer all the vibrations and noise straight into the cab. unless you are making a dragster that will only drive 1/4 mile at a time, I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks again! Its getting a rubber mounting point for sure! I was just curious if anyone had done it and how bad the vibration was! I drove a s2000 the other day and the guy had all polyurethane bushings everywhere and drove and vibrated like crap! Thanks again for the help!
