With the cando control arms do u have to get a smaller brake booster still? Ill be body dropped and Zd with those arms.. appreciate any help on this

 

I run these arms with 18'' , no B D!
Small fire wall tub,(not enough) clutch master is a problem,not bad only hitting bumps @ speed!

From what I've read BD trucks( ours), need the booster & clutch master ( if manual) moved!!

 

Im running 20s, ive already flipped my clutch master under the dash lol. Do u have a pic of how u mounted shocks on the cando arms? My plan is a sfbd, ive read where an 85 toyot pickup brake booster is smaller and will mount right up

Im running them but haven't test my wheels out since the Z an bd but from the looks of it I'm gonna have to get a smaller booster from the 84-88 yota or Geo metro.

We developed a shock mount for our tubular arms. The upper mount is taller than most standard shock relocation kits and the lower mount is a made out of the same 1" DOM as the arms. They have been machined to accept a shock bolt and notched at the correct angle to align perfectly with the lower arm. The lower mount is the proper length to move the shock away from the travel of the upper arm and to keep the shock perpendicular to the ground. We also offer a shock that has the right amount of travel to get the full amount travel out of our arms.

Lol.. true main question was about the brake booster clearing the wheels, but I did wanna kno about mounting the shocks to the cando arms.. got some good answers in that.. its all good tho.. all the info is informative.

 

Im pretty sure your gonna have to run a smaller booster I don't think arms would make a difference in needing a smaller booster or not

Lol yea I had askwd bout the shocks a couple posts down from the original question, but main question was bout the booster

 

Reason is since the cando arms make it so u can eliminate the strut rods or whatever they are called it helps with not getting as much camber on the wheels from what ive heard so I was just seeing if anyone with the arms had to change theirs.. I guess it would depend on wheel offset and stuff.. my wheels are +35 offset 225/35/20

 

Yes the original question was about the brake booster. The answers that were provided, answered the question at hand. My answer would have been along the lines of using a smaller booster (another toyota pickup booster or one from another vehicle.) Or relocating the stock booster up and over to allow clearance of the wheel and motor. which involves rebuilding the brake pedal assembly. I also noticed the question about shock mounting and figured it was a good place to share information of what is available to solve the problem. For those wondering about the kit, it is $49.99 and the shocks we recommend are $50 each.

 

The arms are designed to eliminate the strut rod and allow for more travel. As far as providing more clearance from the booster, having these arms or any other are not going to make a difference. The wheel is going to travel in the same path and be in the same location when laid out. Moving the booster or swapping it out is just a mod that has to be performed when building this style of truck.

 

Is the shock in this picture fully compressed or is there still some space?

 

Yes a eye exam was in order, I lined 6 different beers up, & could read the smallest print fine:5.3 / 7.2 / 8.4 / 9.3 / 1.0 / 10.4
