Hey guys I was wondering what would cause my signal lights not. To work my hazards work but not. Signals
Check under the dash for a small little round cylinder usually steel in color . Not sure on the 71 but pretty much every American and older Japanese vehicles have those signal flasher silinoids should just unplug
What about the turn signal lever ..contacts Most cars hazards are wired to constant 12volt as a safety feature like for instants my other car had a bad flasher but hazards worked fine . Sometimes you can pop the cap off those things and clean the contacts
Found this on another forum It looks like some 70s trucks got two flasher solenoids is there a square gold color box under there somewhere looks like its a flasher box for signals From ihatemud.com F this last relay on the drivers side above the previous relay. It's also a Toyota part 83260-60010 and comes up as "RELAY ASSY, SPEED MARKER".
On the 2nd gen hilux there is a special flasher unit on the back side of the gauge cluster or in the center of the dash area. Fairly large square. Says flasher on it. Its seperate from the hazard circuit and flasher. I will see if I have a spare tomorrow in the parts piles. I don't recall if they are available from the store or not. Heres a scan from the Haynes guide page on it.
