I'm sure most of you have put headers on your inlines and I'm wanting to put one on but just wondering if its worth it? I've redone my whole exhaust besides a header. That's the last thing. What's your thoughts?

I heard OBX and PaceSetter and Hedman are towards the bottom of the quality list.

I will agree pace setter is cheap. But its not garbage. Fully welded flanges, thick mounting flange, 1-5/8 primaries (biggest i could find for a good price). they hang about 1.5" below a hilux frame at the collector. ive dragged mine down the freeways and parking lots of many states for almost 5 years and its still holding. so that has to say something. a few welds need a welder zap at the collector but the amount of heat that area sees, im not shocked. deff worth the $125 or so i paid.

Yea pace setter and headman are just your average steel header but better than stock buy far and nuttin wrong with them as far as obx they have come along way sense there start on ebay and the Honda crowd ... . Unrelated they have become extremely popular with the v8 cars . So much that you'll wait up 2 months on back order . There facilities have also grown comparable to there competitors

no need for short manifolds on our truck.

longer tubes grant you better power and torque due to exhaust pulses and exhaust flow extraction (hence the name, extractors).
Tri-y's are good for torque, and that's the factory manifold design, also. Doug Thorley's are tri-y if I'm correct.

Hedmans are crap. Have one and hate it. Mid range little better but not worth the thin walls on the tubes. I would run tri y.s better top end power and better flow. Dougs are tri y.

How does the collector clear on a bagged and bodied 89-95 body style? I want a header, but would hate to buy it and find it it hangs below the frame..

I had LCE and never had a problem with the header but had problems withthe mid pipe hitting the floor. I also heard that LCE headers were built by pacesetter and tagged LCE

First & foremost, not all headers are quail, some are made with mild steel (will rust through in a short time), & some are stainless steel ( will last) & some are ceramic coated ,last & looks good a lot of years!!

I'm pretty sure Pace Setter does not make LC'S!!

All above very true IMO stainless is the best for durability and appearance but as for the pace setter thing its just something I heard and you know what they say about that. Can believe everything you hear;)
