So im gonna sfbd my 92 single cab in 2-3 weeks.. question is do I need to have the frame rails bend to match the stock angles or do I just keep it narrow on the way back? Thanks in advance for help on this

its an option to bend rails. I used 2x3, 3/16 rect. Tube miter cut do desired angles needed. Check out my 4runner build below for pics.

Cool thanks.. yea I figured I could build it straight back from where I Z it then make front cab mouts run further off the frame. Or get it bent. Just was seein what other people were doing with their frame builds

I was thinking of doing the same but running the tube with the widest side parallel to the ground with a quarter inch wall just in the center section of the frame. I call it... "Low Pro Frame" (Copyright 2013)

Running with the wide dimension sideways defeats the purpose of having it. Might as well run square tube the same size as the small dimension.

Think of it this way, put a 1x4 piece of wood between 2 chairs. On edge, my nearly 300lb butt could hang from it just fine. on face it'll snap like a twig if I try. I know it's a larger difference than your 2"x3" box tube but it's the same principle.

It'd probably work...I wouldn't do it on a street driven vehicle tho.

I'd be using a thicker wall though, slightly thicker than the stock frame. I was also thinking of doing an insert to strengthen it after it is shortened. That's something I have seen in other forums... I am still not sure. I have pictures of a frame that someone shorten from the top and I thought if it can be done from the top then it can be done from the bottom. That way I would not have to mess with the mounts too much. I'm still not sure but stock floor it's going to be. I can't stand that 2" hump on some of the floors I see or the headrests that almost reach the top of the rear window.

you can run them straight back. just keep in mind the more narrow it is back there the harder it is to fit all the stuff back in.

if you don't plan to run super wide rear rims, i'd suggest keeping it stock width.
