Alright so every time i down shift into 3rd or 2nd gear i get a horrible grinding sound coming from my gear box. It makes it real annoying to down shift at high rpm's. Anyone know what this could be or what I can do to fix it? Any help would be proper!

Do the heel and toe propertly and change your synchro in your transmition they don't like to be downshifted at high rpm

make sure your clutch is disengaging all the way and make sure you have enough transmission fluid.

Check your clutch master cylinder and make sure it's bleed tight and doesn't have a lazy/delayed operation .. Toyotas have soft synchros comparatively speaking . Rev matching while down shifting will help reduce wear on them . .. And check your fluid like mentioned redline makes a good gear oil for this type problem that is not hard on the soft metals if you go that rout

Wait, what do you mean downshifting at 4k? Do you mean you're at 4k in 3rd, then downshift to 2nd? yea that qualifies as high rpm/high stress. If you've been doing this without double clutching, that will fry the 2nd gear synchro quick.

Synchros are worn if it grinds. whether the it's caused by the clutch or your driving, the synchros are shot.

Forget heel toe. It's not for this situation, overcomplicated, and doesn't work if your feet aren't the right size and the pedals aren't in the right place. Are you rev-matching? double clutching? google double clutching and try it. it'll help some. Won't fix the problem but it's a workaround and a way to keep from doing more damage/damaing new ones if you get it fixed.

Replacing the synchros is neither easy or simple. it's just short of rebuilding the transmission.

Good luck with that. At this point the synchros are already gone. 3->2 is usually first to go because it's the biggest difference in gearing that you can do without double clutching or slowing down. If it were the hydraulics you'd have trouble at any speed and more in reverse even while stopped. I'm going to assume you're just ignoring my post in the vain hopes it's not going to involve a trans rebuild because of your driving.
