Does anyone know if the cab is the same spec for all three models? and what the difference is between them? I've been searching all over to no avail. I have an RN28 and would like to order new flooring but don't know if the one from an RN25 would fit. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I couldn't tell you for certain. I cut the floor out of a 74 hilux for my 78 and the 74 was shorter by about 100mm (4 inches). It's the rear of the cab that has been extended they they should still work. You line the ribs up where your pedals are. I will check tonight what RN model the one was I cut.

Thank you for the prompt response, I really do appreciate the help. Were you after the rubber looking flooring as well? Or carpet?

I will be carpeting my truck so it didn't matter. I had to confirm there was no rust in the floor so I wire brushed the rubber flooring off and painted it. Still waiting on the RN number off a mate. The 74 truck isn't at my place.

Well I was wrong about one thing. It's a 76 but it IS an RN25 so my 100mm statement above still stands. I'm not sure what the difference is between the my 27 and your 28 are. I think mine is a standard bed. Is yours a long bed?

It is. The RN23 for the same year was short bed. Is yours a Hilux? Mine is considered "Pick-up" I think. It has no Hilux emblem.

Oh! I see you're in Australia! Is your RN27 right hand drive?

here in the states 73-74 is a shorter cab then 75-78.

toyota added a couple inches to the b pillar in 1975. the wheelbase stayed the same. they simply took the length from the front of the bed and added it to the rear. that is why the beds between the two cabs won't fit each other.

here is a picture of my 73

and here is a 75 that uses the early small vent on the larger b pillar.

you can see in that pic that it has a 73-74 bed on it that makes the gap too tight and takes the wheel out of alignment.

here is the same truck with the proper 75-78 bed

as far as your carpet goes most of the carpets for these go to just in front of the seat, which is the same between trucks. if the carpet is for a 73/74 and it is for the whole floor it will be a bit short for your 75-78.

Thank you for taking the time to set up that explanation and the pictures.
