It's more then likely titled as an 88. Some manufactures have done that with an early release of a body change and what not. It's more common to see ,for example, a 84-88 sold as a 89 due to it being a "left over".

honestly, i think i know my truck. it's an '88, take my word for it. if it was newer than that, for one it wouldn't be carbed.

the only thing gm really changed about that body style from late '88 up til '02 was the interior and the induction and ignition systems.

You may be right about it being an 88, but you are wrong about your last statement. You can find many 89 and 90s with a factory 22r. Only 2wd though they stopped putting carbs on the 4wds in 87. My bro in law has a 89 with a factory 22r and its identical to your truck btw.

You may have issues getting body, interior and various parts by calling it an 88 just so you know. 88 is the last year of the square body style 89 is the first for the rounded, does the title actually say 88 or are you just going off the build date on the truck?

build date, i'm actually still waiting on the title. i still owe dude 3 bills on it and when it's paid off i'll get it. he told me one the title it said an 88 to though so that's just what i know. anyway i couldn't get the jam nut on either side of my torsion bar keys to break loose so i'ma have to wait til i get to class on monday and see if my instructor will let me break them loose in our shop. i'll get more pics then and i'll actually get a definite year on it by then too.

yeah lol thanks man but i just got it done actually, i'd post pics but my batteries for my camera are dead and can't afford anymore til tomorrow when i get paid. and guy i guess i'm just retarded and wasn't payin attention when i looked at the sticker on my door for the build date. it's actual build date is 08 of 89 and i guess when i looked the first time i saw 09 of 88.:duh: don't criticize me lol but i got it down to where it's sittin on the bump stops and it got dark on me before i could get them out to get it lower. i'm guessing i got about 3" or so outta it, i don't know i forgot to take a measurement before and after. but i'll get pics up tomorrow. love it the way it is now thought. rides great to be sitting on the bump stops.
