tranny slipage

    new clutch or new tranny
    it hooks up nice untill forth gear then it slips and it also slips in fifth
    only thing i've done so far is replace the slave cylinder
    also how do i ID the tranny is it in the vin for the truck or are there cast markings on it

    dude, im not sure but I can get you a good working 5 speed for 250 bucks, bring it over to my place and have it on in a few hours

    also... remember this is a pretty slow truck lol.. I remember stock when I was in 4th I would mash the gas and it seemed like it was slipping but it was just that it had no balls...

    thats what i'm thinking about need to find out what trannies in it first

    look under your hood for that white paper thing.. on the firewall

    its slippin i can watch the rrr's go and as soon as i release the gas they fall it only happens in forth and fifth though i'm gonna bleed out the slave cylinder in the morning and see if that helps

    pedals tight but i know theres air in the line i was in a hurry when i put it in and didn't have any one to pump the pedal so i half a**** it. the clutch is only a year old and an older lady had the truck before me i doubt she was oput frin tires, i think i'll drop the tranny pan and take a look up inside it might just be something simple

    Keep the rpm's really high!

    I think you'll find that it is bawless. What size rims/tires are you running?

    Question for you

    When the revs get up, in 1st to 3rd gear, can u feel a change in power? I mean when it gets to around 3500 or so I can feel some real power start to kick in.
