sweet truck man! Id love to go drifting! In 2 weeks or so Ill be putting a hydro brake in to make initiating drifts easier. And Im in need of new tires soon. But Im down to cruise whenever, finding new spots is always fun.

Looks like you linked them to FB photos, and the URLs likely updated for those pics. You might want to upload them directly through imgur.com so they links don't change and you don't have to rely on FB to maintain your pics.

    well ...

4a\ge no bottom end but rev's to the moon :duh:

4age20v "blacktop"good engine kind of a pain to get in (had one checked out the idea ,then sold it )

1-2jz to heavy and to long ( a lot of weight over the front end )

    7-m\gte same as above

1uz meh just didnt want to deal with the trans and the aftermarket is bank$$$:verdict_in:

22r been there done that :(

in my eyes I think that going for about 300-350hp will be more the enough for my 2200lbs (with me in it) truck

but I dont know did I miss any that are easy to get parts for ?

    if so let me know:thinking:

No 3SGTE (if this was mentioned in an earlier post, my apologies)?

I'm guessing you want to keep it all-Toyota? If so, I understand; my first thought is always 18RG.

Otherwise there are the myriad of Ford/Chevy/Nissan/Honda options...

you know I did think about the 3sgte ... but if it wasnt going to be a yota engine then it would have been a ls1 backed up by a built t56

Maybe I am misunderstanding your post but the 3SGTE is a Toyota motor...

The 3SGE motor in the JDM Altezza puts out 215hp and pushes around the 3,000+ lb. Altezza pretty good.

Also, the 2nd generation Altezza (IS250 in the US) had the 205hp, 2.5liter V6 (4GR-FSE according to Wikipedia) with the 6-speed manual transmission. Probably expensive but getting parts would be easier than a 3SGE or 3SGTE. But the IS250 is also >3,000 lbs so it would be pretty snappy in a 88 pickup. You should check out MY.IS to get more details on what can be done with this motor and what it would cost if you're interested...

Don't do the is250. They have carbon build up issue. Lexus have a recall on it .

    2RZ!!:waytogo::waytogo:

Don't listen to Nash :D- maybe they arent big in Canada, but they are killing it in the rest of the world. (check out Paradise Racing for many 7 second 1/4 mile 2RZ cars)

For your HP range and having a balanced truck its the best Toyota engine out there.

There are many build threads on CustomTacos.com and 300+ whp is common with HG, Studs, fuel, and a medium T3.

The 2RZ holds boost much better than the 3RZ, and they are cheaper to get in the first place.

Anyone doubting the 2RZ - check out TRfknD's built up 2RZ in this thread on TM:
