sending unit problem

    I have a 92 Yota and the gas gage isnt working. The power to the sending unit i checked it but its on off on off keeps blinking with a test light on the plug not sure y. is it soppose to be be constant power when truck on?

    You shouldn't be testing that line with a test light. It's a sensor line not a power line. Get a meter and read the FSM available online for directions on how to test it.

    I cant find what you're talking about is there a way to check the gauge to make sure its working on the dash?

    Go to Radio Shack and buy a cheap multi meter tester (about $10.00) then follow the instructions that come with the meter. Take the meter and set the scale on OHMS (You want to measure resistance on the sender not voltage). Remove the wire from the sender, place the RED meter lead on the sender's connector and the BLACK meter lead to a ground point. If the meter reads full over (Infinity) your sender is bad and if you get a reading anywhere but infinity your sender might be okay. You can go to your Toyota dealer and the service manager should be able to tell you what the sender's OHM reading should be at full tank and at empty tank.
